Tachycardia 140bpm and Hypertention? |
Hi 140 sounds normal high for a panic attack. You mentioned that ekg and echo was fine, but was it done under a stress test? Was the echo transdermal or esophageal? What was the surgery that this all started with? That sounds like it could be the key? Did they test (hopefully immediately after this started) for any cardiac enzymes? cTNT or cTNI ? You wake up this way? Could it be hypoglycemia? That can cause you to wake up feeling awful. Your symptoms could be related to anxiety or a panic disorder. Are you experiencing more stress than usual?? You should avoid caffeine, alcohol, reduce your salt intake, maintain a healthy weight, and avoid fast foods. Do you monitor your blood pressure at home?? When you "wake with high blood pressure ", how do you that it's high ?? You mention that you have been on a beta-blocker for 4 years, maybe the dose needs to be increased or switched to a different beta-blocker. Have you been diagnosed with SVT ( Supra ventricular tachycardia, which means that the upper chambers of your heart are pumping too fast)?? I apologize for all the questions but, I'm trying to let you be aware of any other symptoms or possibilities. Do you experience any shortness of breath when this occurs ?? Your Echo, EKG, and holter monitor results were " fine ". The best advice is to contact your Doc and let him/her evaluate your symptoms. I mentioned that maybe your medication may need to be increased or changed and perhaps, your Doc may prescribe a mild tranquilizer. I hope that this helps and Good Luck. try getting more exercise Yeah, you are suffering from a panic disorder. I am also on Metoprolol and suffer from anxiety from time to time as well. I thought something was wrong with my heart but everything was find. The only time I get like this is when I'm working to hard and not getting the proper rest. |
