Is it common to marry girls treated for TB? |
Hi, I got a proposal to marry a girl who was treated for TB (Tuberculosis ) two years back. She has been tested positive with skin/blood test and also with CT Scan. I faintly remember she quoting me that she had some symptoms of TB in her skin as well. All this means she had active TB right? then she underwent medication for 6 months and got TB cured. No. There are no issues you should be worried about. She will always test positive since she has it. My mother who used to work in healthcare also contracted TB. She has had no complications whatsoever. I'm not sure about the pregnancy part since my mother was past that age, but I would ask a doctor. It may or may not be spread to the baby. I'm sure that as long as the doctor know about it ahead of time there shouldn't be any complications. there is no cure for tb, you can take medication to try to keep it from becoming active. Im not very well educated but i dont think it can be de-activated once its already active. as long as she keeps taking her meds she'll be ok. but i think you would have a high high chance of getting it from her. since it is airborne, you can have inactive tb, work next to someone and not every expose them to it. but other times its just opposite. i worked with people who had latent tb and i hope to god i dont test pos for it. We also worked with knives so the chance of someone getting it is a lot higher in that respect. its up to you if you want to marry her, if you truly love her, but you both need to get on medication, do that for yourself as a precaution. Other than that i dont know what else to tell you.. |
