Does TB left a scar in your lungs? will it remain there for life & be found during chest x-rays?

i was diagnosed with extra pulmonary TB when i was 20 years old, now im 28 and 2 years ago i had a chest x-ray and the spot is still there. My doctor said that it is possible that its a TB scar. Will it remain there for life? I mean, im afraid that everytime i have a chest x-ray in the future the result would always be "possitive" in TB even if its only a scar. Here in my country, chest x-ray is required for employment and even when you go abroad. Im afraid that i will fail in medical exams because of this. what shall i do? please help.

Extrapulmonary TB ? Are u sure ? From it word "extra" meaning the infection were not happen in ur lung.

Severe TBC could made a "hole" in ur lung. But if you take routine medicine, u'll be good. But sometimes this "hole' left u scar in ur lung. When it happen, no drugs to heal it. Only time.

Its norm tobe afraid. But a good doctor wouldn't diagnose u TB only from Chest x'ray. He would ask u some question, physical test, lab check (mantoux, ICT TB, etc) etc2. So i dont think u should worry (especialy if u not a smoker).

Good luck.

Yup, i think it does remain for life, a scar's a scar. If the infection is gone, dont worry about it

You could have a calcified granuloma there...you want to keep getting the x-rays at the same place so they can verify that it was on the previous x-rays and "remains unchanged"...with new companies the spot may seem new, unless you bring them copies of the reports from the old x-rays to compare...easier to try to keep doing in the same place...
