Our son who is 4l years old was told two years ago that he probably had five months-three years, He is a serviving quad, but hs many more problems and can no longer have surgeries,He has syringomyelia, tethering, severe sensivity of material on his body, deconditional. We just want to know what to watch for besides breathing problems? I hope you won't take this as a cop-out. I have a handicap myself, but I'm not a quad or "on a short leash"-- I'm just letting you know by my statement that I understand. Go to the doc/docs that gave this prognosis--picking up the phone might be a little quicker, unless these people DEMAND to see your son first. Respectfully, no one is God. To make a prognosis like that, they saw something. Prognosis, as you probably know, can be a hit and miss thing. I'm glad your son is surviving. If the docs with the prognosis were big enough to give it, THEY should be able to tell you what you want to know. |
