Can I get tested just for syphilis and nothing else?

I want to get tested for only syphilis...is that possible? I mean do I gotta ask them or what? I just want a syphilis test and no other std test. Does that make sense? I mean should I ask them to only test me for syphilis? How can I be sure thats all they will test for? Also can I get tested for free and get the results the same day? The encounter was about 2 years ago, a few days after it I had a red painful bump in the upper part of my throat that hurt. I didnt have a rash or anything, but the bump was weird in my mouth. I feel fine but I watched a movie today and it had someone gettin it and it made me think I could get damage from it if I had it and didnt get it teated. If anyone can help, thanks

I should think that you could get tested for syphilis only. Why not get tested for everything though while you're at it? They can't do an HIV test without your permission in writing, but if you've had exposure to syphilis, you might have also been exposed to hepatitis or any of the other STD's. Sometimes early treatment will save your life. If it were me, I'd want a clean slate.

ILT IS A GOOD IDEA TO GET TESTED FOR EVERYTHING AT ONCE, AND IF YOU GO TO THE PUBLIC HEALTH DEPT. THEY WILL TEST YOU FOR AS LITTLE AS TEN DOLLORS AND SOMETIMES FREE. pRACTICE SAFE SEX IT'S YOUR LIFE ON THE LINE.

Go to your local health department and ask them to do a test for syphillis. I don't know that its free, but it is done at a reduced rate. Remember, if you are infected, they will require you to name all of your sexual partners so that they can be tested and treated also. Why are you against having a test for any other STD? As long as your are being tested, you might as well get tested for everything.

Yes you have to ask , yes they only will test for that because they are doctors and they have to work with a honorable code of ethics , you sound paranoid BTW why are you scared to be tested for other things ? FACE YOUR FEARS. Just do it stop being such a pansy , I think if its happened two years ago and you actually did get it you would be realllllllyyy sick by now , prolly check for latent , since its been two years ... like i said before it can be cured if caught early enough, but if your scared and don't, It may just end up being your own fear that kills you.

As a healthcare provider I can tell you that it is possible for you to be tested for syphilis....you would need a blood test(specifically a RPR or STS test)....I doubt you could get the results in the same day it was drawn. It could be free if your local health department provides that service. I'm not sure why you would not want to be tested for all possible std's....if you could have one, you could have any or all of them. I have alot of people who come to the office and request STD testing. And why would you think they would do more tests if you didn''t want them to. They would need your permission to run a HIV test if that's what you're worried about. Otherwise we will not, and have no reason to lie to you about what tests we are doing. And you are correct about having it and not knowing it and getting long-term damage from not being treated.
