Turner's syndrome? |
A person affected by Turner's syndrom has only a single sex (X) chromosome, yet may survive. On the other hand, a person having a single Y chromosome will not survive. the easiest way to answer this question is that in the female (two X chromosomes), the information (DNA) is stored on each of the chromosomes. So if you only had one, you could get by. I'm a little rusty, but I'll try to explain it as simply as possible. Men have 1 X and 1 Y chromosome. Women have 2 X. |
