If not pregnant what can it be? need suggestions? |
I need some advice. My friends periods have been messed up for about 6-7 months, she comes on about 2-3 weeks late sometimes and other times she has no periods but has all the usual cramps n pains. SHes done test after test but all come back as being negative no shes not pregnant, also had blood test doen and a docs preg test a few times still negative. I was thinking maybe it could be P.C.O syndrome or something. Has anyone else experienced this or do you have any suggestions of what it could be? We cannot find anything that could be the reason. She isnt on the pill either and has no STD's. Shes a healthy 19 yr old too. thanks x PolyCystic Ovaries sounds like a real possibility but other factors need to be taken into account as well. Athletic women can can display amenorrhea (not menstrating). PCO has other symptoms that are seen such as increased body hair and infertility. Simple blood work can evaluate hormone levels (or lack thereof) and can usually be confirmed with a pelvic ultrasound examination. Hope I helped! She needs to talk with her OBGYN. She should go on birth control pills to regulate her period. |
