Can exposer of mercury and nitro-benzene thru the air cause neurocardiogentic syncope in children?

my two older sons have become very ill and both have been told that they have neurocardiogentic syncope caused by a chemical leak into the air. The chemicals were nitro-benzene and mercury. There were other chemicals, but the two listed had the highest levels.
