Decongestant?

My doctors have told me not to take decongestants. Can I still take Benadry? Is there any form of Benadry that I can take? I have syncope.

benadryl is not a decongestant. it's an antihistamine. it dries you up. stops runny nose. and puts you to sleep. try vick's vapor rub

prob. not u should call ur dr.
umm vicks has this little inhaler thing. try it.

cayenne and ginger

No you shouldnt! Why would you wanna take it?

For allergy stuff try dried nettles (found in pill form in most heath food sections) which actually works better then Claritin-D for my hubby. Might work for cold congestion as well.

Not knowing what syncope is, I can't say one way or the other whether you should take Benadryl. I can tell you, contrary to what "Wudbiser" said, I used to take Benadryl that also had a decongestant in it. Later it got taken off the market, or the OTC market, allegedly due to drug abusers somehow enjoying that medicine illegally. However, I now use WalMart's Equate brand of Sinus and allergy medicine which has antihistamine and decongestant, and it works well for me. Now, whether this syncope makes the medicine unhealthy for you I cannot say since I don't know what syncope is, so . . ., you're the judge on that one. God Bless you.

Benadryl (generic name: diphenhydramine) is not a decongestant, it is an antihistamine.

Be sure that you carefully read the label of anything that you take for a cold or allergy. If you are not sure ask the pharmacist.
