I play varsity basketball and i have been getting extreme shortness of breath, dizziness, rapid heart beat, shaking and trembling, blurred vision, intense chest tightness (feels like somebody is stepping on my chest). I have collapsed twice and fainted once during these episodes. I have already had an ekg, echo, and have been to a cardiologist. Results came back to be normal. I have always had shortness of breath during sports but i do not have asthma. I am only 15 years old and today at practice i had another episode. My doctor told me i have something called vasovagel syncope. I agree with her i might but ive been researching for a few months now and it seems my symptoms are muchh more extreme then vasovagel. I have no idea what this is but its getting brutal. When i walk up a flight of stairs i become out of breath and dizzy and i am not out of shape to the extent or at all. After the results came back i thought i was good to go..guess not..PLEASE leave your opinions on what this is I play varsity basketball and i have been getting extreme shortness of breath, dizziness, rapid heart beat, shaking and trembling, blurred vision, intense chest tightness (feels like somebody is stepping on my chest). Sorry i drink PLENTY of water i go through at least 3 bottles of water a day and two at practices.. All of these symptoms are ones you get from not drinking enough water. Since you are an athlete, you should be getting about 12 cups of water in throughout the day. try to get in at least 8 cups before practice durring the school day. Also, have your doctor take a blood test and check your iron count. iron helps carry oxygen to your muscles and if you are lacking this, you will feel tierd, dizzy, and fatigued after physical activity. But overall, the first thing i suggest is to go to your doctor and get a blood test done and start drinking enough water. are you drinking enough water. I think you need to take it easy maybe, you are working yourself too hard. |
