Swollen glands in neck with no sore throat? |
For the last 3 days I have had a swollen gland on the right side of my neck that hurts when I press it. My throat is not sore though. I am wondering what it could be. I am 13 weeks pregnant and am worried that it could be toxoplasmosis as I have read that swollen glands could be a symptom. Sure, glands (really lymph nodes) can be swollen without a sore throat. Lymph nodes can be swollen from infections (not just toxoplasmosis, but any infection anywhere in the head and neck), inflammation, or even cancer (not to scare you, but just mentioning it for completeness). If you don't have any other obvious symptoms that explain the swelling, then go see your doctor. He/she can examine you and hopefully figure out what might be causing the problem. Good luck, and I hope it is nothing serious. I do this when I have ear infections. See an ear/nose/throat specialist. |
