Swollen glands, sore throat, etc... what is wrong?

everytime i get sick. (about this time of year and lasts for weeks its always a sore throat and headaches and really really tired) i get swollen glands on my chin. i was told that this is just a sign of my body fighting off an infection. well i was sick all last week and was better for a few days but am feeling bad again. and i have had 1swollen gland for about 2weeks. what is wrong?

i havent gone to the dr yet b/c i am not sick sick i just feel really bad. last yr my dr said that it was just viral and i would just have to wait it out (i was also tested for mono but i didnt have it). same with the year before (that yr i felt like i was dying literally i was so sick) and my mom thinks it is my bad allergies.

what is wrong?? i dont want to get really sick like previous yrs. thanks.

i dont have a fever either. and i would like to not miss school unless i have a fever b/c i will get behind.
if i still feel sick by saturday i might ask to see a dr next week. i looked up symptoms on webmd and common ones i found were strep and mono. but knowing me its "viral"

The lymph nodes do indeed swell when you are ill. That is their purpose, to kill off the invading buggies. You had the mono test, so have cleared that.

You're just sick, probably from a virus. If you realized how many viruses you beat off on a given day, you would feel pretty proud that you only get sick this time every year.

Hope you feel better. A warm wet washcloth on those nodes will help them clear faster and should feel pretty good.

Could be strep throat - I used to get it like clockwork twice a year. Could be something else too, though, so it would be best to check with your doctor. Your symptoms certain sound like an infection, but allergies are possible especially given the seasonal recurrence.

PS - If you've worked with cattle ask the doc about Brucellosis.

My doctors said to "just wait it out" To me too because ive been sick for a week and a half, and here i am, worse with a 101 temp..Ugh doctors..
Feel better soon
