Swollen glands i think?someone tell me please? |
the area between my chin and neck is swollen (the place old people get turkey neck) any idea what this might be as it is hard swollen and soe to touch. yes tonsils you could have mumps or tonsilitis or an infection go to doctors and get it checked Yes. SEE THE DOCTOR or the practice nurse at least, that's their job! It could be tonsillitis, but everyone near me has had a virus recently where it hurt to swallow. it doesnt sound like swollen glands, as my daughter has them at the moment, and they are small, and you can move them....I would visit your docter just to be sure....it could be mumps.... Best ask your doc as there are many reasons for swollen glands. I hope it isn't glandular fever because although not dangerous it lays you low for 6 months and no alcohol either(also for 6 months) as kidneys are weakened. yes my brother had this problem a few weeks ago. The doctor said it could be mumps or glandular fever. Yes, lots of different glands here. Non-specific infections affecting the glands in your neck seem to be particularly prevelant around this time of the year in my experience. Don't panic it's unlikely to be anything more serious, but DO GO TO THE DOCTOR and get it checked out, as mumps tends to present itself as a general swelling in the neck (salivary glands) and can lead to problems with fertility especially for young adolescent males and men! it could just be a virus but i would get the dr to take a look in case you need antibiotics your lympth glands could be swollen these are lower than your tonsils and are usually located in the upper neck below the chin problably. i know when my glands swell, i actually feel a big lump on the side of my throat. yes you have glands there. I find they swell every time I get any kind of cold or flu |
