Why do I get swollen glands in my throat so often?

probably every time I get ill I get swollen glands in my throat, it's like a common thing for me but most people I know haven't ever had it / don't know what it is / had it once and thought it was a really weird thing to have (is it?) and thought it was tonsilitis or something
why do I get them so often what's wrong with me

i get ear ache too from the glands blocking a tube or something :s

First, check the water quality you are drinking, 2nd check with your physician, you may may an infection that won't go away without medication

Tonsillitis? A girl at work has it and she's getting hers removed tomorrow.

Update: Go to an ENT (ear-nose throat) specialist.

Ok complex: It is most likely a genetical thing, not an illness and i doubt it is anything to worry about.
Simple:It's nothing bad :P

I had that... If it's painful and if you look in your mouth when there swollen see if one or both of your tonsillis are inflamed.. One of mine and it was painful, and hurt to swallow as well..

Your best bet is to go to the doctors.. If it is tonsillitis without treatment it will just come and go... I was given penicillin medicine (disgusting lol) for 7 days and then it went down after 2-3 days of taking it 4 times a day for 7 days.. akward when i was in school but still lol..

Try gargling with solublacete paracetamol... (hold your nose.. its not the nicest taste lol)

Just get it checked out.. all will be fine chick..

xXx hope you get better

Your "glands" swell when you are trying to fight off an illness.

It happens to everyone.... some just more than others.

You are completely normal.

I used to get this a lot in the past. Check to see if your toothbrush is out in the open near your toilet. Seriously, if so go get a glass straw container with lid and put some anti-bacterial mouthwash in the container. Enough to cover the tooth brush bristles. The reason for doing this is to keep fecal matter from settling on your tooth brush.
