Swollen glands and ear?

I had a slightly swollen gland in my neck yesterday - now this morning I woke up and it is more swollen and my ear is very swollen. No other symptoms just the swelling? Anyone ever had this?

It is quite possible that you caught yourself mononucleosis. It is a viral illness caused by Epstein Barr virus that initially attacks the lymph nodes in the neck and throat. Go to a doc and have yourself examined as soon as possible. They will probably do a blood test to make sure what it is. In most cases, atreatment is not necessary, and mononucleosis will resolve on its own just like any other viral infection. You should drink a lot of fluids, and rest. If you continue to have fever or pain, you may take ibuprofen. And if you develop a sore throat, drink milk shakes, fruit juices, and broths, and eat cool, bland foods. If you develop any other strange symptoms, you should contact your doctor again.

Yes, swollen glands and inner ear are symptoms of many different illnesses. Many of them are minor, but some are best treated by a doctor. These could be symptoms of a very minor 24-hour flu, but they could also be symptoms of something more serious, like mono.

Generally when your glands are swollen/tender, it's a good warning sign that you need to watch for other symptoms, and be prepared to go to the doc. Even if you don't end up at the doctor's office, you should probably rest and avoid a lot of contact with other people until the swelling goes away. That'll help prevent turning a minor bug into a bigger hassle.

Yes it is probably an ear infection..

Your ears and throat are all joined up together and sometimes if you have a sore throat you could also have a sore ear..

I used to get tonsilitis alot before i got them removed and i used to always have sore ears with this but since i got my tonsils removed I have not had a cold or a sore ear since..

Go to your doctor to get it checked out to be sure..A good cure for a sore throat is hot lemon drink with honey in it..Tasty too..

Usually respitatory related, try probiotics, like Culterelle, or Florajen. Ask your local pharmacist, if you have a problem, finding them. If that does not work, you should probably see a doctor. You may have and infection and/or some type of allergy.
