Ear Problems / Swimmer's Ear?

I don't know what is wrong with my right ear. I went swimming the other day and when i got out of the pool, I couldn't hear out of my right ear. I thought it was water in my ear, so I bought alcohol and dropped a few drops in my ear, and slept on a heating pad. I woke up the next morning with pain, hearing loss, and the feeling of water in it. So I tried popping it, jumping on my right foot, and laying down on it just to see if it would come out by itself. No luck.

So here I am, in Florida on my vacation, not being able to hear in my right ear. I honestly don't know what's wrong with it. It's starting to hurt more and more and I really don't want to go to the doctor.

When I go swimming I usually get water in my ear and it usually clears up within a day. But this time there are more side-effects and it's been like this for 3 or 4 days.

PLEASE HELP!
I'm only in Florida for a few more days and I would really like this to be cleared up before the end.
THANKS!

I'm not sure if this'll help what you already have, but it can prevent more. I gave this advice to someone else earlier. It was in a recent magazine. How to Outsmart Swimmer's Ear: Right after swimming, set hairdryer on low and hold heat source a foot away from you , aiming at each ear for 30 seconds. EXTRA information: swimmer's ear, or otitis externa, results from an overgrowth of bacteria that thrives in wet environments. Eventhough it sounds almost too simple to work, doctors agree that by eliminating excess water, you'll send bad bacteria away. Hope this helps.

Check with a scuba dive shop. They have drops to prevent infection and special ear dryers. It's worth a shot.
