Cure for swimmer's ear??

This has been going on since Tuesday the 4th- help!

go to wal-greens. it's probably infected already

I've heard sweet oil helps. There is over-the-counter products, even at Wal-Mart. Ask the pharmacist on duty for help.

Unfortunately if you have true swimmer's ear you need to go to the doctor's for antibiotic ear drops. I would go in, as an ear infection of this type could eventually lead to more... Have your health care professional check it out before any people give you home remedies to deal with it. If it isn't bacterial, there are many ways to clear it up, but chances are if it is worsening and it is day 5, it is bacterial, and you need abx soon.

you can go to a pharmacy and get over the counter ear drops for swimmer's ear

you could also try a few drops of rubbing alcohol (which is basically what the ear drops consist of) and that will dry the water out

to prevent this in the future make sure you put drops in your ears everytime after you swim so that the water doesnt build up..or you could wear ear plugs

good luck, hope you feel better!

There are over-the-counter products but have heard that hydrogen peroxide works just as well.

There is a thingy at Wal-Mart in a blue box that is supposed to work really good. Good Luck

try to wear earplug next time you're at the swimming pool.
go to the doctor and ask him to prescribe a medication for you.
good luck!

cotton balls in before swimming

smack the side of your head ( repeat ) oh all right.......get a blow dryer and point it at your ear for about ten minutes . Obviously you are going to set the temperature to warm but dont burn yourself k

If you have an infection you need to go to the doctor to get some antibiotics.

When i was a kid i use to get them alot. A doctor told me to put a half and half solution of rubbing alcohol and vinegar in a bottle. Then take a q-tip and dunk it in the bottle then clean my ears after swimming or showering or at least once a day. I never had another ear infection. I still do it today and i am 28.

DO NOT PUT THAT IN WHEN YOUR EAR HURTS. IT WILL HURT. You have to get it cleared up first.

If you have an established infection you may have to see a Dr to get antibiotics to kill the germs. If it is simply inflammation from the liquid that refuses to drain out you can mix up a teaspoon of rubbing alcohol & a teaspoon of white vinegar together, use a few drops into the affected ear 3-4 times a day. Hold your head to the side for about two minutes letting the drops settle. You mix & use these drops each time you go swimming to help prevent this problem as well. An over the counter decongestant will also help open the ear cannal from inflamation, such as psuedofed.

Rubbing alcohol.

Pour some in the cap
Lean your head to the side
Pour it in your ear
Lean your head to the other side

The alcohol will pull the water out of your ear when it evaporates. It works instantly.
