What is the best way to get rid of swimmer's ear?

My ear feels full of water.

i used to have chronic problems with this and a pharmacist told me how to cure it. take a cotton ball and soak it in rubbing alcohol and squeeze it into your ear while laying on your side and fill it up, let it sit for about 30 seconds. i also found that doing this immediately after swimming prevents future problems

I've always heard that you're supposed to pour just a tiny bit of rubbing alcohol in your ear (which evaporates rapidly). Don't use a lot of Q tips as that can lead to an ear infection.

Buy a product called "Swimmers Ear", use ear plugs or try alcohol

It sounds dumb, but this works for me:
tile your head so the ear with water is parallel to the floor
hit the other side of your head, just above your other ear

Well, the obvious is to stop swimming, but another way is to put a few drops of peroxide in your ear....but I'm not a doctor, I just play one on Yahoo Questions.

1. Get some alcohol...the RUBBING kind.
2. Saturate a good size cotton ball with it.
3. Put your head down on the bathroom counter with the stopped up ear up.
4. Hold the wet cottonball over your ear and squeeze the alcohol into the ear (yes, it will be cold, deal).
5. Pull gently on the outer edge of your ear and open and close your jaws while doing so.
6. Put a towel or washcloth over the ear and turn your head over so that the alcohol runs out onto the towel.
That should do the trick. Hope you had fun in the pool!! :D

A few drops of alcohol, or vinegar. Sudafed (pseudoephedrine) may help too.
