Can I die from Swimmer's ear infection, if left untreated? |
I have an external infection in my left ear cannal and every medical doctor or nurse that looks in there says it's swollen. I'm getting medication for it, but would I die if I hadn't of got the help or even treated it? if the infection had reached your brain yea it could put your life in danger. It could get to that point. Any infection close to your brain or heart can threaten your life if left untreated for to long. Highly unlikely but could happen The infection itself could kill you if you had an impaired immune system. Otherwise, you would probably just go deaf in that ear. any infection if it gets to a bad level is deadly As the saying goes, "all things are possible." Death is a very remote and unusual outcome from a swimmer's ear infection. More commonly, they are very painful, so the patient seeks medical attention. |
