Pain after treatment for swimmers ear? |
I had swimmers ear last week and that was so painful. It stopped hurting about Monday and I finished my medication on Wednesday. But since Tuesday I've had this weird feeling that I'm hearing things underwater? Everything seems to be amplified in my head in a muffled way and it's making me nauseous and giving me such a headache. I'm having a hard time hearing people talk and it's just making me miserable. I've called my doctor and waiting for him to call me back not sure whats taking so long. Just wondering if this is typical after an ear infection or maybe from the ear drops they had me on? Anything I can do to make it better? You may need to get back on the medication again because those symptoms should have cleared up. Your ears being plugged causes your equilibrium to be out of whack making your feel dizzy and sick. Your head doesn't have that balance because of your ears being full of fluid. You might have to see about having them drained. Wait to hear from your doctor. Sounds like ear infection or fluid in the ear. You can take sudafed but your best bet is to wait for the doc to call you back; If they don't call you back in a reasonable amount of time (no more than an hour wait) then call them again. I know exactly what you are talking about and this may sound kinda strange but try it cause it works I used to get really bad ear infections when I was little, and what always helped besides the meds is alcohol. I'd put a little alcohol on a Q-tip and the put the alcohol tip in my ear, to help dry up any water that was in my ear. Then I put the dry side in to clean them out. I did this once every day until I started feeling better. Hope this helps while you're waiting to hear back from your Doctor. Best wishes |
