Can artificial sweeteners increase blood sugar level?

I love sweets but I don't want to be a diabetic patient.... so is it safe to eat goodies with artificial sweeteners.

They can have some odd effects but most importantly, they are known nerve toxins and the more you kill your nerve cells, the more you should expect your body not to work as expected.

I just happened to post a video on this subject. It's an hour long and extremely detailed.

The dangers of aspartame is well documented and has been published in numerous peer-review journals. Those that claim the safety of aspartame can produce no study data backing that up because there is none. The FDA NEVER studied it for safety before it went on the market and did not refute the medical data showing how unsafe it is when that data was presented before Congress.

To help lay out the facts, I've also put together this Lens with the books and study information showing the dangers of Aspartame.

If you do a google search of "aspartame" (another name for Nutrasweet) and "brain tumor" together you will find that many people believe their brain tumors were a result of drinking artificially sweetened soda. My doctor told me that it's much healthier to just eat sugar than to eat aspartame. I have to avoid sugar myself and I've found that fruit juice sweetened desserts don't affect my blood sugar level. I think you're really smart to avoid sugar but don't use artifical sweetners - they will not benefit your health. Of course, you'll find all sorts of information from the manufacturers telling you that it's all safe but it's not!

Because sugar substitutes, also called artificial sweeteners, are many times sweeter than sugar, it takes much less of them to create the same sweetness. The resulting calorie count of the amount used is negligible.

Sucralose, an artifical sweetener, tastes like sugar because it is made from table sugar. But it cannot be digested, so it adds no calories to food. Because sucralose is so much sweeter than sugar, it is bulked up with maltodextrin, a starchy powder, so it will measure more like sugar. It has good shelf life and doesn't degrade when exposed to heat. Numerous studies have shown that sucralose does not affect blood glucose levels.

FDA has approved certain artificial sweeteners like aspartame and sucralose, so they are safe for us to consume.

No. Aspartame is nasty stuff.

Natural is always best, but if you want to eat goodies, do so in MODERATION. To keep from developing Type II diabetes, exercise, eat right, and maintain a healthy weight and lifestyle. That can include a treat every once in awhile ;-)

Don't listen to them. Artificial sweeteners like Splenda, NutraSweet are all good products. We diabetics eat them all the time because we have to. However, some people do have trouble with them raising blood sugar some. Not as much as regular sugar would, but it does raise it some in some of us. I'm one of them
