What are the benefits and pitfalls of artificial sweeteners as opposed to regular sugar? |
I have heard somewhere that artificial sweeteners are bad for you. Some of the artificial sweetners have been linked to cancer. Splenda is a really good one, it's made from real suger but without all the calories. Laura said exactly what I was going to say. I will add: A lot of artificial sweeteners are carcinogenic. refined sugar turns straight into fat. Go with fruit juice sweetened stuff. Avoid the ones with "Aspartame" (not sure of spelling) try "Splenda", it's made from pure sugar with the carbs removed. Try organic, pure cane sugar. |
