What do you think of artificial sweeteners?

I am a diabetic type 2.Unfortunately ,I have a sweet tooth and can not take my coffee without artificial sweeteners such as Splenda. Some times I eat diet sweets such as chocolate.
I hear different opinions about artificial sweeteners ,specially Splenda. Can you comment based on your experience?

Try Stevia. It is an herb and as such most likely better than anything "artificial."

Researching online, I've read some very disturbing things about Splenda and Aspartame.

Well it tastes nothing liek sugar that is for sure. But it is better than no 'sweet' at all. Splenda and Sweet n Low are the two popular ones. But in the end the all taste the same. I do not have diabetes but my granny does and she has a crazy sweet tooth. Every so often she has those chocolate bars and diabetic sweets and she is happy with it.

They taste awful. Better to have no sweetener at all than any artificial sweetener.

splenda is the best
their is a new one but i don't know if is ok for a diabetic
it's called sugar in the raw you can ask a doctor
never had it thou but i like splenda i use it all the time
i don't think i have heard any thing but that people don't like the taste but it won't make you sick or any thing
people just like to complain hope this helps
