Artificial sweeteners effect?


I just found this page

he says " Eating sugar causes immediate changes in the brain鈥檚 chemistry" and points out that we have sweet sensors on our taste buds.

It goes then, that once we taste sweetness, our body must go into preperation for its digestion, ie. start to release insulin.

What happens then, if we eat an artificial sweetener that insulin has no effect on?. could this cause problems because of elevated insulin levels?

I have t2 diabetes and have been told by my dietitian that artificial sweeteners cause an insulin response. I don't now the science of it - all I know is that I get sick as a dog whether it is sugar or AS :-(

I have been told that there is some kind of conditioned response to artificial sweetener, but I have not been able to see that happen in me by actually using test strips.
