I dont drink soda anymore.... now i drink that carbonated water drink w/ artificial sweeteners.. healthier? |
instead of buying a bottle of coke for $1.20 in L.A. i now buy a 4 pak of artificial sweetend carbonated water for the same price.. they come in different flavors...really good.. but my question is if these artificial sweeteners can cause your sugar levels to rise like regular sugar? Sometimes the artificial sweetner can cause weight gain. Unlike sugar, it might not be able to be metabolized. Sugar is a simple carbohydrate that the body can burn. Some substitues causes your body to lower its' metabolic rate which would cause you to burn fewer calories. They are are both the same. Both contain the things you listed. Neither is what I think is healthy. Report It No. There is no difference. Soda has carbonated water. But about the artifical sweeteners? I don't know. I'm NOT a Doctor. Honestly, no it's not any healthier. You're basically drinking clear soda. Artificial sugars can cause your sugar level to rise, just like natural sugar. Either way, you're still putting artificial stuff into your body, which ain't good. By the by, carbonation itself isn't good for you, in any form, it slowly depletes the calcium in your bones making you more susceptible to osteoporosis when you get older Depends if they are sweetened with other natural forms of sugar as Splenda. But I would say you are making a healthier choice. Now if you are diabetic, this should still be okay. Stick with tap water it is free and if you can't stand the taste use a water filter it is better for your body than any soda type beverage |
