Does the taste of artificial sweetners get better with time?

I have a terrible addiction to sugar. I need to lose a lot of weight and most of my calories come from sugar. I can't get over the taste of artificial sweeteners, does it get better, and how long does it take?

If I could just not use sweeteners, then I wouldn't have this problem. And I do exercise, everyday, but I consume probably 300 calories a day in sugar and need to be able to switch to artificial. The benefits out way the risks when it comes to sugar vs. artificial. So, telling me to exercise and not use sweetners is really empty advice, thanks anyway.

Splenda is the best, taste just like sugar with maybe 2 calories or less
I just checked my packet it has 0 zero calories!

I have had to detox myself from sugar too due to my addiction to soda...I am now drinking diet soda and crystal light. There are different kinds of drink mixes and sodas that you get used to in time. I recommend lemonade and iced tea Crystal light and Jazz Pepsi and Diet Dr. Pepper...Diet Coke tastes nothing like the regular stuff. As for foods I try to go for things like yogurt with artificial sweeteners. It is hard at first but you get adjusted to it over time...Good luck~

Be careful. Artificial sweeeteners are not all that good for you either.

You either accept the taste or you don't use it any more. Try Stevia. It is a natural sweetener and not a chemical like aspartame or Splenda

Yes. I switched years ago and hated the aftertaste. Now regular soda gives me an aftertaste. I can tell immediately - even if it's in an alcoholic drink. Side point: if you are a drinker, you will also notice that you don't get as bad hangovers with diet soda - something to do with the sugar content being part of what gives you the headache.

I started with Diet Dr. Pepper and Root beer, and found they were "sweeter" and helped with the transition to colas.
Good luck.

ew! not only do they taste horrible, they will make you crave carbs that turn into sugar as well as cause you to crave the sugar anyway!
artificial sweetners are a cause of concern where health matters lie.....
i would simply advise to knock out some of your sugar intake and walk for exersize!
chewing a regular piece of gum will also help you beat the cravings-just don't use artificial sweetners!

Well not all the brands are the same i use splenda and it's ok it still has the taste and unfortunantly the taste isn't going to change it just depends how much off the packages u use like if u use a couple it tastes the same as sugar but if u put a lot of it it's going to taste like artificial but again i''m using splenda maybe u can taste a few other brands 2 see wich one is better
