What do you think of artifical sweeteners? Do you use them? |
With all the controversy about artificial sweeteners and good health, I was just wondering what you all thought of them. Do you use them? Did you used to use them? Hazardous to good health. Better not take them. I use splenda in my coffee, but I dont drink coffee that much so I dont think it could hurt me. I think there a healthier choice instead of regular sugar. Actually, the word artificial makes me afraid. I don't use them because I have heard so much bad about them that it makes me nervous to serve that to my family. I use real sugar and just cut down on portions. I also don't use margarine, because I think real butter in smaller portions is better for you. I rarely use artificial sweeteners, i get enough sugar through the foods that i eat rather it be fresh fruit vegetables etc... As for sweetening beverages for example coffee milk is all i use. If i need sweetening i sometimes use honey or stevia which is a natural sweetener found in the health food store. We use splenda in our home due to my partners diabetes, my 71 year old mother has used it for years and is in excellent health. If I'm not mistaken Splenda is made from real sugar, tastes not bad once you get used to it. Hi, NEVER use artificial sweeteners! |
