Artificial sweetener want to know about health risk if any? |
The ingredients say, dextrose with maltodextrin, aspartame. a little below it also says. phenylketonurics contains phenylalanine. What I want to know is are these things harmful? I tend to put about 5 packets per cup of coffee. And there are days I drink alot of coffee. Is this harmful the sweetner should I just get acustomed to drinking it black plain? Aside from what has been said, I do NOT believe Splenda is "the best". Why? It has only been on the market for a short period of time, and we have not studied it's long term effects. The doctors say that Splenda is the best sweetener for diabetics. It is O.K. to use, but I wouldn't use so much. Cut down gradually. Not all at once, because you will be like....yuck, and pour it all in. As the other answer said, Splenda is the best artificial sweetener to use. It is made by removing one part of a sugar compound and replacing it with chlorine. Some people have issues with other artificial sweeteners. It caused headaches in some people. Stay away from saccharine, it has been shown to cause cancer in lab rats. Other than that, all food products, including artificial sweeteners are regulated by the FDA. If the substance causes cancer in ANY animal is is NOT allowed to be used in food for human consumption. they all taste horrible, but everyone seems to claim that splenda is the best. there were some studies that claimed there was evidence that consuming aspartame could have negative effects in tthe long run but it is still approved by the FDA to my knowledge. but most of these seem to be biased. |
