Artificial sweetener - any side effects if taken long term? |
Artificial sweetener - any side effects if taken long term? There are many ppl who have such doubts including me.And not only because what some health care ppl say,but also beacuse it appeals to logic that nothing synthetic can be as good as something natural.Better give up sweet altogether both natural and artificial. You know they say in our culture that if you give up something you like,God will give you something which you may even like more.Interestingly many ppl have found this to be true. Cancer! Headaches! BTW...a rumor about Sucralose(?) is that it was accidentally discovered while trying to create a safer pesticide. It all depends on which sweetener it is. Some have been linked to cancers, headaches, and contrary to popular belief- you dont lose weight. Its been proven that things like diet soda make you gain weight because you end up drinking even more because it creates an almost insatiable sweet craving. If you need to use one- try splenda. you should exclude artificial anything from your diet. that includes sweeteners, flavorings, colorings, and preservatives. stick to clean, natural, minimally processed foods.for sweetener substitutes, try stevia extract or agave nectar. the stevia is a powder that is extracted from the stevia plant. the agave nectar is a syrup that dissolves easily and has a low glycemic index. both can be found at your local health food store or natural food market. Do not use Artifical sweetener. You should use Blue Agave Syrup. It is 1 1/4 times sweeter than sugar, and has almost no calories. It is also all natural, and there are no side effects. From my own personal experience, Aspartame (sweetener in most diet softdrinks) makes my face break out. Splenda does not. The tests that have been done in the laboratory appear to indicate that a person would need to consume 3 or 4 gallons of liquid a day sweetened with artificial sweetners before it would have harmful effects on you (this study was done on Aspartame - I have not seen any tests on Splenda) |
