What skin conditions can cause..?

small patches of dry skin on the face.. underneath my nose is really dry and when i put moisturizer on it it stings, i also have another patch of dry skin too.. does anybody know what this could be and what i can do to help it...

its not itchy.. just flakey

its not psoriasism atleast doesnt look like it

Could be psoriasis - see your GP for a hydro cortisone cream.

vaseline- its drying out because the cold- have you been blowing and wiping your nose alot- maybe try different tissues

I had that when I was on accutane, but it has almost went away. Benzoil Peroxide does that to my face. I use Cetaphi facial moisturizer. It is light, has sun protection, and is not greasy.

it could be cirrhosis

sound like either eczema or psoriasis, likely to be the former and is often worsened by cold weather. Use something simple like E45 cream or Aqueous cream, if this doesn't get rid go see Dr.

My aunty suffered from a similar thing - just patches of dry flakey skin...

It was eczema.

Your GP will be able to give you a specific cream to treat it.

Hers seems to just appear if she is exposed to harsh weather or is particularly stressed... like a cold sore.

Hi Summer,
What you should do before having to speculate on 100 different could-be's is to ask your Pharmacist or Dr. what would be a good anti-histamine to take and give that a try for a week or so. A lot of times the area around the nasal passage will be affected in many strange ways.... from nose bleeds to skin conditions... by what's known as ' histamine blockers '.
Summer, I say this because you said it's only dry... not itchy, which leads me to believe that it's not psoriasis or eczema. If the antihistimine doesn't clear it up within a week, I'd only use a 'pure vitamin E' oil...one of the best body healers out there...non-greasy....and it won't sting...lol...best wishes ..... kenab

sounds like you're internally dry. eat more watery foods, eat honey, drink more water etc.. no natural mositurizer would make your face sting. read the ingredients, and just switch products.

try using vaseline.
