Make sure any detergent you use for clothes is fragrant, chemical free. There are non steroid creams available, although for me they didn't help much at all, but everyone is different. There is a cream that a dermatologist has my husband using called Blue Lizard. It helps a lot. You dampen your skin first and then put it on. A little goes a long way.
