I need a doctor- where should I go?

If you read my previous question, BECAUSE the doctors can't find anything wrong with me...they refuse to sign intermittent FMLA papers. They say I have NO diagnosis, yet I was diagnosed with Sjogren's Syndrome, fibromyalgia, and speculated fatty liver (yet no tests were done for that).

I am nasueated all the time. I had only been rejurgitating my food until today, the symptoms are still only getting worse. I am still having a lot of right sided pain.

If I have to go see someone, think I should go to another hospital? Let them retest me? I don't know what to do?

Eventually, if this keeps going the route it's going, I'm not going to be able to eat anything. Or do anything.

NO one will sign my intermittent FMLA papers. WHY???? They said that it is a liability because I don't have a diagnosis! What is Sjogren's...it's a diagnosis...Just because they can't figure out why I'm so nauseated...and stuff...I don't get it..please shed some light on this for me.

Hi I have looked up and listed two different organizations with ph#'s hopefully they can help. One is the National Instititute of Health, and the other is a University in Florida that deals with Fibro. I really hope this will guide you. Please don't give up that's what they are hoping for then your in trouble. Call the number on the Fibro line it's on here read the message thouroughly. When I was fighting with my docs about being sick and they kept telling me I wasn't well here I am going through the worst part of chemo treatment and they made me wait an extra year and half. I am suing them. I'm angry about how they treat people when they are to busy or lazy to do what needs to be done. Please try stay strong. Drink some Boost, slowly and mix it with water cause it's thick and take a Gravol. Antinauseant after to keep it in for energy.
Its so important to not give up or in good luck again and I really hope these sites help, esp. the the one with the Fibro # on it. You are NOT crazy. If you have fibromyalgia you are ill. You may have been told that whatever you have seems untreatable. You may have been overmedicated by well-intentioned health care providers who wanted desperately to help you. You may have fallen victim to some of the many folks who are making billions of dollars a year off your desperate search for something, anything, that helps.

We are here to help. We provide educational materials based on a lifetime of work by R. Paul St. Amand, MD, treating fibromyalgia. We raise money to fund legitimate fibromyalgia research. Our mission is to increase knowledge, reduce frustration and most important, to help. Your quality of life is extremely important to us.

We are gratified that the number of people and organizations devoted to helping fibromyalgics has grown enormously. Treatment of fibromyalgia has become a multi-billion dollar industry and we have no objection to profit. However, conflicting information provided by marketers regarding the guaifenesin protocol can be harmful. If, after thorough investigation you and your doctor determine that implementing the guaifenesin protocol is appropriate for you, it is critically important that it be adhered to precisely.
We are often asked why the Fibromyalgia Treatment Center does not manufacture, distribute, or promote any particular brand of guaifenesin for the treatment of fibromyalgia. Simply, our mission is to educate -- based on forty years of diligent, honest research. We will not risk compromising the integrity of our work with the perception of ulterior motivation.

What is Sj枚gren's Syndrome?
Sj枚gren's syndrome is an autoimmune disorder in which immune cells attack and destroy the glands that produce tears and saliva. Sj枚gren's syndrome is also associated with rheumatic disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis. The hallmark symptoms of the disorder are dry mouth and dry eyes. In addition, Sjogren's syndrome may cause skin, nose, and vaginal dryness, and may affect other organs of the body including the kidneys, blood vessels, lungs, liver, pancreas, and brain.

Sj枚gren's syndrome affects 1-4 million people in the United States. Most people are more than 40 years old at the time of diagnosis. Women are 9 times more likely to have Sj枚gren's syndrome than men.

Is there any treatment?

There is no known cure for Sj枚gren's syndrome nor is there a specific treatment to restore gland secretion. Treatment is generally symptomatic and supportive. Moisture replacement therapies may ease the symptoms of dryness. Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs may be used to treat musculoskeletal symptoms. For individuals with severe complications, corticosteroids or immunosuppressive drugs may be prescribed.

What is the prognosis?

Sj枚gren's syndrome can damage vital organs of the body with symptoms that may remain stable, worsen, or go into remission. Some people may experience only the mild symptoms of dry eyes and mouth, while others go through cycles of good health followed by severe disease. Many patients are able to treat problems symptomatically. Others are forced to cope with blurred vision, constant eye discomfort, recurrent mouth infections, swollen parotid glands, hoarseness, and difficulty in swallowing and eating. Debilitating fatigue and joint pain can seriously impair quality of life.

What research is being done?

The goals of research on disorders such as Sj枚gren's syndrome focus on increasing knowledge and under-standing of the disorder, improving diagnostic techniques, and finding ways to treat, prevent, and cure the disease.

You need to see a rheumatologist. This certainly sounds like an auto-immune problem, other than the nausea, which I don't understand where that is coming from, but hopefully a rheumatologist (in private practise) can help you get to the bottom of this!

(I also answered your last question)

I wish you well!

I answered your other question.I am not familar with Sjogrens Syndrome.my advice would be to look up those names on the internet and see what is says.Read and see if the symptons are similar to what you are suffering with.If that cannot help you have every right to attend a nother hospital. Please go and seek more opinions from another Doctor and dont give up until they give a 100% diagnosis and the disease they say you have. All the best I hope you get well soon.

Has a Gastroenterologist done an upper GI on you?

I had nausuea & regurge all my life... was GERD
and hiatal hernia

now I am on meds for both (it wasn't until Protonix that any medicine or treatement even was able to help me.. I had been on each med as it came available)
