Evoxac? Any problems anyone? |
Has anyone ever been on a medication called Evoxac? It is a medication for Sjogren's Syndrome, to try and counteract some of the affects of the dry mouth cause by the condition. My mom is on the medication and she also has a heart condition. She was on the medication for 3 years and her doctor have taken it away. They have since had to return it to her but not as often. Has anyone else had this problem with this medication? A small percentage of patients treated with Evoxac report cardiovascular complications such as peripheral edema, chest pain, edema and palpitations. The best drug treatments for this disease are all in the same drug class, therefore they may cause same problems with cardiac side effects (ex. pilocarpine). You may want to check with a physician (i.e. mom's cardiologist) to see if the cardiac problem is significant. If your mom has had cardiac rhythm problems or chest pain, for example, drugs in this class should be avoided, but some "heart conditions" are more benign. nope sorry, never heard of the med or the syndrome! |
