Sinusitis with clear nose?

Im not too sure, but I think I have chronic sinusitis. Allthough, My nose is clear. No mucus, my blood work was all good (No elevated blood cells), clear nose,

I recently had a cranial CT scan, but for a head injury, so I dont think they would have seen it (or would they have?). My symptoms are pressure in my face/head and sharp shooting pains around my head.

Is it possible to have sinusitis without an actual infection? And can that still lead to a brain abscess?

It is absolutely possible. You could have a low grade infection that causes blockages in your sinuses without your nose running or being stuffy. It could also be seasonal allergies. Try Tylenol for sinuses and see if it helps.

The sinuses are cavities, or air-filled pockets, near the nasal passage. Like the nasal passage, the sinuses are lined with mucous membranes. There are four different types of sinuses:

ethmoid sinus - located inside the face, around the area of the bridge of the nose. This sinus is present at birth, and continues to grow.

maxillary sinus - located inside the face, around the area of the cheeks. This sinus is also present at birth, and continues to grow.

frontal sinus - located inside the face, in the area of the forehead. This sinus does not develop until around 7 years of age.

sphenoid sinus - located deep in the face, behind the nose. This sinus does not develop until adolescence.

Yes, because you may not realize it but humans have many sinus' throughout the face the ones that get infected when you have nasal congestion are just the ones that are closest related to the nose area... you also have them beneath and "above" the eyes and deeper in closer to the ears... sometimes if one gets infected... it spreads to the others... like a sinus infection that leads to an ear infection... its all connected///
Sometimes, it stays isolated and you get the pressure in only a couple of areas without the other symptoms.
this is the way my doctor explained it to me... I've had sinus trouble all my life between infections and allergies...
