What does Sinusitis do in a baby?

i was just told yesterday my son has a sinus infection or another words a bacterial infection. he was put on Amoxicillin and got his first dose at a after hours clinc her in my area. when i got my son home he spit up or another words vomited at least thats what it looked like he started coughing then it came up. i called and asked if this was a reaction and ment he was allergic to it and the doctor said no. that they usally get a upset tummy after the medicane.

my question is can sinusitis make my son not really want to drink from the bottle he kept pushing it away. can sinusitis also make my son spit up alot becuase of the drainage in the back of his throut...

i get sinus infactions all the time so i know the feeling of it draining.

Your son probably is having difficulty having a bottle cause he can't breath through his nose which is what little ones do and the vomitting is probably as you said all the extra drainage going down and irritating his throat.. Try some sort of chest rub ointment like Vicks vapour rub or euky bear rub to help with the nasal congestion and offer the bottle frequently giving a little often will help keep him hydrated.

If you get sinusitis "all the time" it is possible that you are allergic to something in your environment that keeps your sinal tissues exposed to infection. If your child has inherited your possible allergies then he/she will follow suit. Chronic allergic reaction in the sinal tissue can cause enlargement of the turbinates - a fleshy secretory body in the sinuses. That will cause decreased airflow through the nose. You should consider undergoing allergy testing and ask the doctor about testing your child as well.
