Is there any relief for a nagging shoulder injury? |
I experienced a shoulder injury in October of 2005. I've been to different doctors and have had x-rays and mri's taken but yet everyone seems to agree that there isnt a tear or break anywhere in my shoulder area. I keep experiencing sharp pains everytime i raise my hand up over my head or make a throwing motion. After too much use, the pain is really uncomfortable and sometimes it results in me not being able to move my arm for a day or two This is very frusterating since I am an athletic person that likes to lift weights and play sports which involve these specific motions. Icing and anti-inflammatory's have not resulted in a solution either. Im curious if there is anyone out there that has had a similar injury and if so how did you get rid of it? It sounds like a nerve may be pinched. You should consult a sports rehabilitation center and see what they have to say and if there's any thing they can do for you. for me warmth helps more than cold, but its quite likely you have injured it for life and you will suffer pain more and more often like i do. sorry Spinal injuries can also cause those same type of pains. So, I'm wondering if they have done an MRI of your cervical spine also. If they haven't and they can't find a cause for your pain within your shoulder area, then maybe you should talk to them about it. Cuz I have herniated disks in the cervical spine, and my pain started out kind of like that. nsaids I had an injury that behaved like that. I thought I was doomed to live with the pain forever. One of my friends is a massage therapist and I let him work on it. The immediate relief was significant but what was really impressive was the way it kept getting better. In a couple of weeks it was back to normal. Try a good massage therapist. Get recommendations. |
