Shock chain?

For the past few days now, our gym class has discovered electricity. we all get in a like a half circle and touch each others fingers, then a guy shocks one end (gets the shock from rubbing up against the bleachers) and we all get shocked. Itsreally fun and funny but i was wondering if this causes and health problems? i dont think so but just checking..

That little electricity probably doesn't do any damage. Now, wetting your fingers and sticking them in an electrical outlet....

You have a weird P.E. class. No showers and shocking each other. Don't you do any sports???

Kids these days...

Shouldn't hurt you, it's like sticking your tongue on a battery, your body will pull away before any real damage can be done.

If you're talking about static electricity, it's just an amusing game - and I won't ask where the gym teacher is during that part.

If the shock is there all the time, or if you keep feeling it for as long as you hold the metal, there's a problem in the building's electrical system that's putting current where it shouldn't be. The path from one hand to the other crosses over your heart - not the thing you want to be putting a lot of current into. Maybe there hasn't been a problem so far, but you don't have circumstances where you can limit the current to a safe level. If everyone has sweaty (conductive) hands one day, it could turn into a very unpleasant experience.

You should report this possible health hazard to someone in the school.
