Electric shock in my tooth!!? |
Every couple of weeks I get an electric shock in one particular tooth. It generally doesn't hurt, although once or twice it has (only for 30 seconds or less though) An electrical sensation + feeling of cold sounds like it could be a nerve problem - every tooth has a nerve running into it. I'd get that check out asap, could be there's something there that's compressing it. I have no idea, sorry hon. Call the dentist and tell him what you're telling us, he might know what's going on. It sounds like something to do with nerves, either decay in the nerve or the nerve being interfered with in some other way. When I was in high school I had cavities on the whole lower side filled. Every night, I would wake up in pain, despite having these cavities filled correctly. Even during the day, I had severe pain, enough that I would cry and I was popping Ibuprofen like it was candy. I went to the dentist and he had me bite on something metal and various things like that, but nothing made it hurt. He ended up telling me that the pain I was experiencing happened in a few people and it could take up to a year to go away, and dentists didn't know why it happened, it just did. If you have had any recent dental work done, that might be the cause even though my answer isn't much help. My pain went away in about a month. Yes wow i am experiancing the same thing!!! It kind of seems to feel like a zinging (electric) pulse feeling upinto my gum down to the tooth. I need to set up a dental appointment!! But yeah mine comes randomely too atleast once a day. I had an episode last night that lasted about 5 minutes if ya wouuldnt mind letting me know what the dentist said id appreciate it. my e mail is desert924rose@yahoo.... thanks :) |
