Static shock on the left side of my head?

alright ocassionaly I get a shock on the left side of my head, lasting for about 2 sec at most, but it does hurt. It feels much like a static shock. I dont get it often, probably once every 2-3 months, but have never really thought about it until now. Anyone have any ideas? I'm just curious if its something I should get checked out.
