How can a shock effect us?

I don't mean a big electric shock or something. I mean like a small shock when you touch something metal. How does that effect our body? What does it change in our brain?

Well I was just sitting here, touching the static stuff on my tv then I touched something metal. I usually do this. ALOT! I'm afriad that it will hurt me after a while.

Please dont think im some freak now, now that I touch my tv just for the fealing of a shock. It hurts but I like it. It's hard to explain. =]

But, how does it effect us?
thanks,
Jake

Well Jake, I'm no rocket scientist but the affects this has on your nervous system can be short term and long term.
All depends on your age and your constitution. If you have a low pain threshold then you would be a fool to inflict this upon yourself.
If you are just experimenting with your body then I would probably suggest you try something a little less invasive.
As for the brain changes, well it would send a message via the neurotransmitters that this is not a tickle. Hmm. stay safe kiddo.
