Shaken baby syndrome?

So I was reading about that little boy Kaleb that has been fighting for his life after his caregiver shook him. Well it just upset me alot to know that this kid can't have a normal life now, and all the bills that face this family b/c one lady had to hurt a helpless boy. I have a 11 week son of my own and I know if I was in that position I would be devestated, that boy is my world. So I was wanting to kinda raise some money for families like this that need help. It's so expensive and painful to watch your child sit in the hospital day after day. I know there are alot of charities and such already, and I don't have much to give to these charities but I'd like to get the word out about this terrible situation and help raise money. So how can I go about raising money, not just through the internet but in my town and stuff.

If you are wanting to raise money for the one baby that was shaken, see if there is a fund already going for it in the home town, a lot of times there will be funds started at local banks.. if not, see if you can get one started in the babies name at one of the local banks.. and you can start it off with what ever you can afford ... even if it is just $10.. You could contact the local TV and radio stations and newspapers and let them know about the fund.. and I bet the money would come rolling in.... It is a shame we have to do things like this.. I hope they have the person who did this behind bars and they Will be there for a long time. !!

Also, you can talk to members of your church and community about donating and send a donation directly to the family. In that case, you would not need to begin a non-profit organization.

gather friends for a car wash or even barbecue, you could raise money these ways and informing people bout where the money is going, you could even get your local charities, church or businesses involved

Do you have a local member or Parliament where you are? Your best bet would be to go and see them. Non-profit organizations can be difficult to start but I wish you all the luck in the world.

I started a petition for a family with a baby who suffers from GoldenHar's Syndrome after Social Security (Centrelink here in Australia) denied his parents a Carer's payment. Maybe even go to your local news station and ask them for help. This is how I got my petition on the net.
