Sexual health checkup?

i would like a sexual health check up but not for any particular std or anything just a check up to cover everything, i have only have one sexual partner but we are using the pill without a condom so id feel better just to check everythings fine but im not sure where to go 'cause i dont want to see my doctor, but the gum clinics ect seem to deal specifically with std's and unprotected sex so where do i go for just a check up ? and what do they do exactly ? x

You can go to the clinic for an "annual" or a "pap smear"
During the exam they give you a breast exam which includes just feeling for lumps. The vaginal exam consists of palpitating the lower tummy while having a finger inside pressing up (to check for any lumps) Also the doc will insert a device that will hold the vagina open to allow him to get a swab of the cervix (this is the actual pap smear). They tests the cells on the swab for unusual cells which could lead to cancer. While down there they will take note of any unusual discharge or odor which could indicate a bacterial or yeast infection.

I know the clinics seem to focus on STD's and pregnancy but they do those as well. Just curious, how did you go about getting birth control pills without getting an exam?

Try to find another doctor but with a Women's Health clinic if your city offers one with free services and let them know that you need to have what is called your well-woman exam. This is where they do an exam to check your reproductive organs to make sure nothing is out of the ordinary and also do a special test called a pap smear to check for cervical cancer.

If they don't offer these services check to see if there is a Medical School close by to you that may be able to help further.
