Sexual Assault?

i have to write an essay that deals with women being hurt by their spouses. naturally i have no clue where to begin. the title is supposed to be "Why My Strength is not for hurting and what i can do to stop violence against women". so if anybody could give me a couple pointers and a step in the right direction your help would be greatly appreciated. thank you in advance.

Well all the other answers are great, I was in a very abusive marriage for more years than i care to admit to, I stayed in a shelter for abused woman. Call your local shelter(you'll find there number in the yellow pages) call them & see if they would allow you to come interview the woman(if your a guy they will tell you NO) but then you can ask if you can do interviews over the ph. If your a woman, they may say yes, but you will be instructed where to meet them & they will take you to the shelter it has to be kept secret. If they won't let you come being a woman,ask about interviewing over the ph. There is a wealth of information,in a woman's shelter plus they would feel they are getting the message out there. You might start with a taped interview with a social worker or a J&D court representative who specializes in abuse.You also could speak with a psychologist or counseler in mental health.You might even speak with the J&D judge since they handle all the domestic cases.People love to tell you what they know.Good Luck
