Why are people making it seem like being uncircumcised is a bad thing?

I was reading some information about circumcision to find some answers why I was circumcised. So, I'm hearing all these opinions from different people about the prons and cons. I'm against circumcision because when doctors cut the child they're doing bodily harm on him. They're harming a sexual organ and the child will probably never know about it until later on in his life. So, it's considered a sexual assault. When a man is circumcised, he loses the protection that is essential to protecting the nerves on the head of the penis. The surface of the glans penis is not skin but a thin mucus membrane. When exposed to constant friction and abrasion to clothing or the harshness of drying from the air, it loses sensitivity because the glans develops a layer of protective tissue to make up for the lack of foreskin. So, why do this to your child? Why make him suffer? Why are people saying there are benefits when THIS happens? I find it as a sexual assault on the child

People are ignorant of why god made a man with a foreskin. It was put there for protection of an internal organ which was not designed to be external. God told Moses to circumcise his people only to show they belonged to a certain sect.Only the tip of the foreskin was removed. Doctors do not usually use pain killers on babies as they say it causes swelling of the penis and makes it hard to cut. The gland and skin are one piece at birth and they tear it apart to place the clamp over the gland while the child screams in pain.Do your anatomy research and then say it is painless and good. It is mutilation!We have been conditioned to see only circumcised penises by ignorant people who can't wait to rip off their son's foreskin so he will look normal? Circumcised is abnormal!

I do not know when this became popular in the USA. I grew up in Europe and mostly Jewish people were circumcised so the germans checked many a male to see if they were hiding their origin. Used to happen to my father. Do not know about your idea of sexual assault. You may have a point.

Mothers were told that it would be easier to clean and keep clean and maintain proper hygiene.

Circumcision is a Western, Judiastic practice. It is commonly performed at hospitals now as a hygiene measure. Unless a person is meticulous about their personal hygiene, cleaning in all the folds each and every day, bacteria can accumulate and cause infection/disease. If you already were circumcised, there is nothing you can do about that fact now....if you are against it, don't have your sons circumcised....this is about the best stand you can take against it, at this point in time.

i see your point....the only reason i know of why it is a good thing to curcumsise is because the foreskin hides bacteria inside of it and then infections are caused. i think other than that that it is a "looks" issue. i know about the infections though because i see it all the time in my place of employment.

It's not a bad thing, but its a much better thing to be CIRCUMCISED. Uncircumcised is weird and gross.

Honestly, it's mostly due to culture. In many areas of the world they do not circumcise their babies but here in America we do. It is more work for the parents and well as life long for the child and needs to be properly cleansed every day to avoid infections. I believe this is one of the reasons that circumcision became prevalent in the first place. I would think most men would wish they were not circumcised once they're older as the tip of the penis is much less sensitive when it's been circumcised. Not that I have personal experience :o) but I did have a boyfriend for about four years who was from Amsterdam and was not circumcised. That is how he explained the situation to me.

he had it done as an 21 y.o adult undergoing General Anesthesia( more dangerous ) , huge outpatient insurance bill, and a whole lot more pain and suffering than a baby would experience

I AM WITH YOU 100%! My son is not circumcised and is grateful it wasn't done (he is 25 and married). If the area under the foreskin is kept clean, there is no risk to the man, or the woman, for that matter. Male humans wouldn't have been designed with a foreskin if it was intended to be cut off. Circumcision is mutilation, no doubt about it!

you get cancer if you are uncircumcised. ppl in 2nd and 3rd world countries dont get it done because they cant afford it. any normal person would do it for there son you get infections and cancer, because you cant clean it good. sexual assault more like child neglect.

Oh that's a load of ****! Most boys and men do not keep themselves clean enough and it can and does cause women to get infections.. And honestly, its ugly.

It doesn't make the suffer. And I have seen what problems boys and men can have from not being circumcised..My son wasn't, but he had so many problems they had to do it when he was 2 years old!!! And it didn't bother him a bit.

Of course they did it while he was getting tubes in his ears so he wasn't awake. But he was up running around the next morning like nothing happened..

I had 2 other foster children who had problems as well.. One little boy, you could not pull the foreskin back at all... it HAD to be fixed. Another little boy got blisters (HUGE ONES) like my son did from their own urine, even with me keeping them clean!

I have know adult men who have had to have it done.. My first husband could not pee standing up, he could not pull the foreskin back at all and it took him a long time to orgasm as well.

Anti-circs are mostly fundamentalist and irrational people, who are against the procedure simply because they are not happy with their own circumcision. I think they certainly need help. Even with all the studies and research showing how beneficial circumcision is, they insist with their catastrophist theories that all are wrong and flawed.

My advice: ignore this minority, enjoy your circumcision. Circumcision is popular now and will still be popular in the future.

it's taken millions of years to evolve to where we r today. the foreskin is there for a reason ! they've yet to fully understand it's whole function . just because some idiot in the desert is too lazy to dig a hole to find water to wash himself is no excuse to cut it off. those myopic idiots might as well remove thier tonsils and appendix and gall bladder to avoid future problems. health problems we encounter are all man-made . we're evolving to survive the enviorment unfortunately we're changing it faster than we can evolve

Pro-circ people are generally US citizens, Jews or Muslims, the rest of the world does not practice this crude male mutilation. No justification except in very rare cases, probably less than 1 in 10,000----since americans place nudity and touching the penis as such a taboo, there may be hygene problems even with a circumcised penis.
Over 2 billion of the world's men are not circumcised, most the the men EVER circumcized are still alive today becuase it just became popular in the late 1920s for nonjews and nonmuslims.
