We are drinking sewage water that has been "cleaned"?

http://www.cnn.com/2008/HEALTH/03/10/pha...

I read that this morning and I am totally disgusted. Makes you wonder what kind of health risks we are being exposed to. Scary!

who cares, rain water is full of bacteria anyways, but when they clean water usually everything germy goes away Report It

Yes. I know disgusting!!!!!!

you are enganged in speculation. Its all a conspiracy.

yep, it is a process called reversed osmosis

we always have and always will, water is always recycled

Okay think of it this way. We live on a planet that contains all these atoms, elements, etc. Water is something that exists on our planet. Hydrogen and oxygen molecules can come together to make H20 (water) in some reactions, but really water is something that already exists on our planet and there isn't a new supply of it that keeps coming from somewhere.

Yeah when water gets evaporated into the sky and then rains, that is sort of a filtration, but really we have just been using the same elements for billions of years.

We are getting close to being able to measure single atoms and single molecules in the environment. As we get close, all water is going to be contaminated, mostly from natural sources. "Clean" water is a myth and always has been. Water from your grandmother's well was highly contaminated. We have two choices to clean water further than we do today. We can raises taxes and triple the price of water to pay for the required infrastucture or we can stop using the molecules that were found. Since most are drugs that make people's lives better, no politician is going to do that. Can you imagine women's groups if someone suggested we ban birth control. And the caffeine they found can only be eliminated by very advanced treatment or a ban. The 82nd Airborne is not big enough to take away my coffee.

And people are talking about how scary this is. There have been ZERO impacts recorded from the waters that were studied. We in the industrial world are damn lucky that we have the "cleanest" water in the world.
