Ok i know this is asked a lot....?

so is it okay to flush tampons.... the house i live in is like 20 years old and our water pressure isnt much but it still flushes ... it just could be better... but is it a good idea to ... we live in a town and are hooked up to the main sewage system... Please give me some answers!

not to mention i have a dog that likes digging through garbage.......

well its the size of a normal poo so it will go down... a lot of people say it expands to fit the pipe dont listen because they only get so big. I am sure you have had friends over and u notice the tampon wrapper in the garbage and wonder where the tampon is... well they flushed it, read the instructions the tampons come with and see what it says after removal. If you are really really scared it will cause problems, I just cut the string and tampon into pieces so that way there is no chance of causing problems. Its gross i know but i want to make sure...... hope i helped u... Oh and dont flush the applicator!! but u knew that :D

No, not a good idea. Wrap your tampon in toilet paper a few times then dispose of it in the garbage. No one will see it and it will not offend anyone if you wrap it up like that. Don't risk your toilet overflowing and by all means when were you born? Yesterday?

Noooooooooo !! Not at all !! particularly as the plumber will be able to tell the landlord straight away why it cost him $500.00 on a weekend to unblock the pipes .............. bit of personal experience there !!

you not supposed to but i guess you could try if you think its ok but i dont.

You're really not supposed to. Even though it doesn't normally, the toilet could clog any time you do it...and it's really embarrassing when it does. You shouldn't get in the habit of doing it either, because if you're a guest somewhere and you flush your tampon out of habit, the toilet could clog and cause a mess and embarrassment. Just wrap a tampon in toilet paper when you throw it away, and no one will ever see it.

I Would Advise You Not Too,

I use to flush all my "FLUSHABLE" tampons but then moved to our new house that has septic. Helpful hint!.....Keep a box of snack-size-ziplock bags in the bathroom and put it in there when done and wrap THAT in toilet paper. That way nothing "soaks through".

Getting the tampax to flush isn't usually the problem with them. It's when they go further and their strings tangle up in roots and things on the way on down the system that eventually leads to problems. Such as other things can begin to collect until you have a semi or full blockage in your system.

Many sewer workers can tell you that tampax are often culprits in clogging or obstructing sewer lines etc.

You might no think it's all that big a deal now, but if your sewer backed up or clogged and had to be dug up and repaired you wouldn't feel the same for such a simple task as tossing it in the trash instead.

You'd have a bad smell, possibly a torn up yard that also smelled, and no use of your bathroom during. Not to mention it is EXTREMELY costly to have to do............. Oh and add to that, when the sewer guy knocks on the door to tell you what he found..... he isn't going to be looking at your father, brothers, or husband............

no floods can happen
