I was thinking about venice italy for my honey moon?? |
i heard it was beutiful there ..but the sewage smell was a bit over whelming. I visited Venice last summer and it was nice. The sites were pretty, the canal water was dirty. The main square had beautiful buildings, but there were pigeons everywhere! The people say that a king (or someone important) kept the pigeons because he liked them, and they multiplied like rabbits! Anyway, people sell bird food for them and that takes care of the maintenance. I am just thinking about my honeymoon. I guess my BF better propose first. i have never been ther but i say yea italy is a beautiful place and my brother went there and he said it was great now i have a little knephew so it might work for u Don't go in the summer. The heat makes the smell stronger. It is very nice there in the spring. It is, it's beautiful, but certainly not perfect. Stop being an "ugly American"...Go, and have a wonderful time! I was there in November of 2004, and I noticed no smell at all. It is absolutely gorgeous. Make sure you make the short boat trip to Murano and see the glass shops. Several of them you can watch a glassblower at work. Pretty cool. I say go for it, enjoy it for what it is, just make sure you get out of the hotel room once in a while. ;D My wife and I visited there, but it was back in 1968. There was no smell that I can recall then at least or have heard of since. Ask your travel agent if there is now. I doubt if there is because the "town" is continually washed out by the tide twice a day. Other than that, I would think it would be a great place to go on your "honey moon" because most Americans will never decide to go there otherwise and you'll always have that to remember. You should also visit near-by Florence and the leaning tower of pizza if you plan to be staying just in that area. If you have the time, and the money, go on south to Rome, see the Cathedral, and especially and even Naples, I will leave it to you to resource why but you won't be sorry. And there is even more to see while you're there, but, oh well. Have a happy life and be sure to read this book: "Think and Grow Rich," by Napoleon Hill. Highlight it in yellow, the first reader, they have the second reader highlight it in blue, which will result in green. Then both of you read the green again, together, and you will know why you married in the first place before you even finish reading the book. And you should have a productive life as I have. Good luck. |
