Would you comit or not ...?

Say you are going to get braces therefore you have to visit the dentist office every two months, but on your first consultation you get the worst possible impression of the place because as you get out of your car the parking lot stinks as if a sewage pipe bursted somewhere, you also find out that the building is under remodeling so it looks horrible inside, on top of that you would have to start spending money on clay models and xrays before they quote you on the price of the treatment.
What would you do if you already shed $70 --would you continue and suffer the stink and dust every two months, or would you take your business somewhere else?

The x-rays and study models are needed by the dentist to formulate a treatment plan. This will be the same at any ortho office. However, if you don't like the condition of the office or the doctor or you are uncomfortable with the situation, you should get a referral to another orthodontist. There are plenty of them out there. If you paid the $70 for x-rays and study models, they should be able to send those to the new orthodontist. If not, just kiss the $$ goodbye and call it a lesson learned. That is just drop in the bucket compared to what you will be dishing out for braces anyway.

I think I would ask my dentist for referrals to other orthodontists. The reason they need to do the xrays and models before giving you an estimate is because that is the only real way they have of knowing how much work has to be done.

Well I will not probably but you have to sign a contract before you start and if you change then you will have to break it. i am not sure if you can do that. I will probably go somewhere else that is safter
