How to complain about very dirty restrooms in the university?

I am at my university trying to study and when i went to the restroom, it was horrible. No soap, no toilet paper, no paper towels, urine spilled all over the seats and flowing on the floor too.

Every toilet also badly clogged.

Smelled so nasty it will make a person puke. For the past several hours nobody cared to clean the restroom. Such kind of restrooms can be a hazard for the health because too many germs, bacteria and viruses are being spread.

It can cause flu, or even hepatitis since sewage badly overflowing. It seems like a 3rd world place.

So much money paid by students for classes, then can't they expect clean restroom in return?

This is the state's largest university with over 28,000 students so obviously restrooms will be heavily used. So they need to keep lots of janitors at heavy volume capacity too. I would rather hold my piss then to go inside such filth.

all the restrooms are bad. On weekends only 1 building is open while the rest are closed. Students have to study on campus so they come here for that.

Weekend may mean holiday for deans and administration staff, but for student ..he always has to study. No holiday for him at all.

As a cleaning service / janitorial service owner. The restrooms are the largest complaint of any facilty. You need to bring this up with management, to get the staff or service upto par. They should imply proper supervision along with a bathroom checklist that is maintained by the janitor signing off at every cleaning, then the supervisor signs off after it is doublechecked. In most cases management is not even aware of the problem because they do not use that bathroom. Inform them, along with the corrective procedures mentioned.

I worked while I was at college so I can attest to the... umm.. stuff I have seen in the restrooms while working there. You need to find someone important who works in the building the offending restroom is in and complain to them. When people complained to us about a mess in the restroom we were always able to have it resolved quickly. If its generally all over the place then you might want to try and find out where the maintenance department is and leave a complaint with them. If they never clean it up and its all over the whole college then you might even want to contact the local health department.

In colleges its usually just one offending restroom though, scout out all the restrooms in the building or area for a while and you will learn where the cleanest one is. I went to a college where one restroom was very very filthy but just walk a few feet down the hall and there was another restroom that wasn't as heavily used, I always made it a point to go to that one instead. The good thing about college is there are restrooms everywhere so chances are you will find a clean one that you can use.

You should try to go through the administration first. Invite a dean or equivalent to visit on the weekend. I take it that there is no student government or student newspaper. These should be contacted first if they exist. Lastly, if all else fails, contact the local newspaper for a weekend visit.
