When you go to the dr and get blood taken to see if you have Septicemia how long does it take for the results? They usually do a C&S (culture and sensitivity). That could take anywhere from 24 to 72 hours. The blood has to start growing something and then they isolate it to see what it is. They can do other blood tests, but this is more specific and give them an idea of how to treat the blood infection which is critical because someone can die without treatment. I dunno but may i be ur doctor? ;-) You should get your results quickly...after a white blood cell count. In case of septicemia blood is taken to perform blood culture test which takes at least days to interpret. In this test we try to grow bacteria in culture media under artificial condition that is why it takes more time. |
